• Avoid caffeine a few hours before your float.

  • Avoid shaving or waxing, and don’t come with a fresh tattoo – the salt solution can make these sting.

  • If you’ve recently dyed your hair, make sure you’ve washed it several times before floating.

  • If you wear contacts, remove them prior to your float and we suggest wearing your glasses for the first hour after your float.

  • We provide body wash, shampoo, conditioner, towels, ear plugs and petroleum jelly (to cover cuts or skin abrasions).  Anything else you’d like, please bring it.

  • Your float room and shower are private.  Wear a bathing suit if you prefer but we don’t recommend it.

  • Don’t come starving or super full – you don’t want to be distracted by a grumbling or heavy stomach.

  • Arrive 20 minutes before your first float.
  • After your host escorts you to your private float room you’ll notice that your Indigo Pod is empty and dry.  That’s because Indigo Float offers all of its clients a 100% float solution evacuation between each float.  No more floating in someone else’s water.

  • Undress to the level you’re comfortable with.  A bathing suit is acceptable though we recommend being completely naked to get the full benefit of your float.

  • Take a short shower using soap.  Wash your hair.  Please do not condition your hair (you can do that after your float.)  While you’re showering you’ll notice your Indigo Pod filling with solution.

  • Insert the earplugs (provided).

  • If you have any cuts or scrapes, cover them with a thin film of petroleum jelly (there’s a small packet next to your towel and earplugs.)

  • Step into your Indigo Pod.  Before lying down, grasp the inside handle of the lid and gently lower it.  Now lay down.  If you don’t feel comfortable being in complete darkness, feel free to leave the lid open or just partially cracked.

  • Let yourself go, allowing your body to be completely supported by the float solution.

  • At the end of your float, lights will slowly come up and the music will quietly resume. At the same time, your Indigo Pod will start to empty.  Push the lid open and stand up. Try to wipe off any excess salt before exiting the tank and then step out slowly and hold the side of the tank.  Take another warm shower, washing with soap, shampooing your hair and conditioning, if you choose.

  • Once you’ve re-dressed head to the tranquility room to relax for a few minutes, or go back to our grooming station to dry your hair, put on make-up and otherwise get ready to head out and conquer the world.
  • Remember, the more you float, the better it gets!
